The United Nations organized summit aims to set a new agenda for global humanitarian action, focusing on humanitarian effectiveness, reducing vulnerability and managing risk, transformation through innovation, and serving the needs of people in crises.
Mr. Satyarthi will address the high profile audience including world leaders, civil societies, businesses, and governments at the high-level event ‘Leaving No Child Unprotected: Child Protection Across Development and Humanitarian Divide’ on the need for prioritizing children in the times of crises, urging the international community to uphold the commitment to ‘leave no one behind’ as envisaged in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Mr. Satyarthi will also bring spotlight on the much neglected issue of vulnerability of children in emergency situations that put them at risk of being gravely exploited in the form of child labour, slavery, trafficking and also child marriage.
The high-level event organised by Global March Against Child Labour and Kailash Satyarthi Children’s Foundation in association with other multiple organisations and coalitions at the World Humanitarian Summit, will aim to garner commitments from the child rights organisations and governments to build targeted national and international programmes needed to reach the furthest behind such as displaced children engaged in worst forms of child labour, or at risk of trafficking and address gaps in education for affected children, adolescents and youth.
